Uplay watch dogs8/29/2023 ![]() ![]() Video game PR companies to do some outlandish things to promote upcoming games, and within the context of Watch Dogs sending out a hack-able safe makes sense. ![]() ![]() That's never a good sign when it comes to mysterious packages. And when they tried the included pass code for the safe, it apparently started beeping. Apparently, the publication in question, Ninemsn, was supposed to have received a voicemail alerting them to the package's arrival, but either they missed, didn't check, or didn't draw a connection between the message and the package. Apparently, the package (a safe) contained a copy of Watch Dogs, a replica of Aiden Pearce's hat, and a beanie, but its contents were only discovered after the Australian bomb squad deemed the safe "not suspicious" and cracked it open.Īs it turns out, the false bomb scare resulted from some miscommunication. In other potentially troubling Watch Dogs-related news, a major online publication in Australia was forced to call the bomb squad after receiving a mysterious package as promotion from Ubisoft. In fact, they believe most of the major PC problems should be rectified by later Wednesday night. Ubisoft assures those affected that they are looking into any and all solutions, and will make any important announcements on the official Watch Dogs Twitter account. While it appears the worst of problems are behind Ubisoft, there are still reports of PC problems for Watch Dogs players. The good news is Ubisoft appears to be working on fixes, and many are already saying things have improved. It's important to note that these problems are not on the level of, say, Battlefield 4 or Diablo 3, but any launch-day problems, especially for a massive game like this, are disappointing. Some were unable to log-in to the game, others saw the game crash at the drop of the hat, and a few were even unable to create a uPlay account altogether. Shortly after launch, some gamers reported problems with the PC version of Watch Dogs, specifically with regards to the uPlay client. ![]() But, like many a multiplatform release, it wasn't without its hiccups. For all intents and purposes, the launch of Watch Dogs on Tuesday was the biggest multiplatform release of 2014. ![]()
